SANTA'S HIDE-A-WAY HOLLOW DEDICATES 101 SEAT CHAPEL WITH A PACKED HOUSE & CHOIR IN THE LOFT!

On Friday, September 20, Santa's Hide-a-Way Hollow, a 93-acre sprawling North Pole Village, dedicated the BELIEVE Chapel with a worship service lead by Cleveland Diocese Bishop Nelson Perez and Vicar Father Dan Schlegel. The non-denominational church was built at the request of hundreds of families who have visited the Hollow with a terminally ill child the last 18 years. Many asked for a place in the village where they could hold their child's service after passing – a place where they could have quiet time to pray and reflect.

Friday, after two years of thousands of hours of volunteer sweat equity and 6-figure product and cash donations, the BELIEVE Chapel was packed, with many tears flowing. The village's buildings were open and staffed by scores of volunteer elves, and the Chagrin Valley Jaycees hosted a celebration dinner at the pavilion by the pond.

On Thursday there was no film crew available to chronicle the event until God miraculously introduced a volunteer elf that night to Nathalie and Diara who are in town for one week from Switzerland working on an Alzheimer's documentary. They "happened" to have Friday available and volunteered their time to film the dedication and the village's venues.

Many parents have shared while at Santa's village with their sick child that they have so much fun they forget for a day why they were invited. Friday was such a wonderful, special time as everyone shared in the celebration of Santa's dream. We had so much fun that I believe most of us, for a while, forgot why the Chapel was built.

WARRIORS EAST VOLLEYBALL 11s 3RD IN GOLD OF 104 TEAMS IN OVR OHIO STATE TOURNAMENT!

After Coach Diana Ford's East side 11s team won 4 regular season tournaments, placed 3rd playing up in a 16 team 12s tournament in late April, and losing only to the eventual 6th grade team Gold winner 15-12 in the 3rd set, they went to the Columbus Convention Center on 5/11 for the OVR state tournament. Peaking at the right time, they ranked #5 out of 104 5th-grade teams in Ohio.

In Columbus, the Warriors went 6-0 in pool play, beating New Wave and Southern Ohio Volleyball Club 2-0 each. Beating the state ranked #4 team, ABBA, 2-0 to win the pool, they moved on to the GOLD quarter finals. The 5th grade girls beat Cincinnati Crush 2-0 to run their tournament record to 8-0. They then had to immediately play a rested Toledo team in the semi-finals that would go on to win state tournament Gold. The Warriors ran out of gas, losing two hard fought sets 25-21 & 25-20. The Warriors tied with Toledo for the least amount of sets lost in the state tournament. Ironically, the Southwest team that lost in the finals is from northeast Ohio and the Warriors never played them during the season.

D-DAY 75th ANNIVERSARY JUNE 6 - PRAISE GOD FOR THE MEN & WOMEN WHO SAVED THE WORLD FROM EVIL!

As the 75th anniversary of D-DAY nears, David & Goliath Warriors wants to remember and thank all the real Warriors who put their lives at risk and the many who gave their lives in WW2 to protect the freedom we cherish.

I especially want to thank my dad, Murray S. Fruchter, a B-26 Marauder pilot in the Army Air Corps 9th Air Force. Dad graduated high school in Cleveland at age 18 in 1940 and at age 19 was in Lubbock, Texas in pilot training. In a pre-D-DAY bombing mission on German munition plants, bridges and railroads, my Dad and his crew accomplished their mission in the midst of Nazi anti-aircraft fire and in a dog fight with Nazi Messerschmitts.

Dad's dream to play Major League Baseball was cut short when he took shrapnel in his leg during the dog fight. He shared his love of baseball with me through training and coaching my little league teams and the national past time became the tool God used to bond us and become best friends. Our dream was to go to a Cleveland Indians World Series game and, on Tuesday, October, 24 1995, we went to the first home World Series game since 1954, a 7-6, 11-inning win against Atlanta. Dad died from Leukemia less than 5 months later on March 11, 1996.

I love you Dad!

WARRIORS FAMILIES BLESS 4th BOYS COUSINS

This year we've had a number of blessings unfold of generosity throughout the Warriors family.

An anonymous Warriors parent noticed a need for Antione and Earl, inner city cousins DG scholarships on our 4th grade team coached by Ron Calhoun. The parent contacted me and anonymously donated the money for the boys to get new shoes which were purchased May 2.
